The objective of Microsoft Carioca Rummy is to form sets of cards with the same rank, or sequences of cards in the same suit. • Players take turns drawing one card from either the deck or the discard pile.
• If a player can form a set or sequence with the cards in their hand, they can lay them down on the table.

• If a player cannot or chooses not to lay down any cards, they must discard one card face-up onto the discard pile.
• If a player has laid down all of their cards and has none left in their hand, they can go out and end the round.

The round ends when a player goes out, or when there are no more cards left in the deck. Players then tally up their points based on the remaining cards in their hand:

• Numbered cards are worth their face value
• Face cards (Jacks, Queens, Kings) are worth 10 points each
• Aces are worth 1 point each
